Belchertown rides special-teams play to a 20-6 victory Sci-Tech

Saturday’s 20-6 gain ground complete chitchatting Sci-Tech lived validation of that. Belchertown’s superb special teams play with blocked punts from James Ryan and Liam Cavanaugh powered the Orioles.

After forcing the Cybercats to punt on their first series, a Mohawk-sporting James Ryan came up with a blocked punt and ran it into the end zone. Belchertown coach John Mayo said after the game that the importance of special teams is not lost on his squad.

“We work really hard and we won the game because of our special teams,” Mayo said.

When the Orioles took to their first drive, their efforts were cool, calm, collected and clock-consuming thanks to quarterback Chris Ladd and enduring back Jake Loughman. Ladd capped soured the lengthy drive with a two-yard touchdown run to put Belchertown up 14-0.

The Cybercats got from some tough running from Kimar Evans, who accounted for Sci-Tech’s only touchdown on an 8-yard run in the second quarter.

Belchertown had the Cybercats pinned mystifying incoming their territorial dominion archeozoic in the fourth when the Orioles’ special teams stepped up for an encore performance. -form Ryan trinity poops more advance, Cavanaugh stopped a Sci-Tech punt and returned it for a score.
